About AMSC:
In the year 1980, the very first Asian medical Students’ Conference (AMSC) was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. Medical students from four countries (India, Japan, Singapore and Thailand) gathered to discuss issues of community medicine, nutrition, water and infection. Today, AMSC has become an important annual event that hundreds of medical students from as many as 20 countries look forward to participate in.
The essential objective of AMSC lies in creating a platform for a strong, global network of medical students – the doctors-to-be – to explore their academic knowledge, cultural appreciation and interpersonal skills.
AMSAHK’s involvement at AMSCs has taken an exponential drive for the past 6 years. In the summer of 2006, AMSAHK was proud to serve as host to more than 350 delegates to AMSC’06. It was a wonderful opportunity uniting the strengths of medical students of CUHK and HKU for such a meaningful event on an international scale. In 2007, AMSAHK continued its active involvement in AMSC by sending a 45-membered Hong Kong delegation to Seoul, Korea. The dedication and hard-work of the Academic subcommittee of the HK delegation has also helped AMSAHK to build a glorious history of achievements in academic competitions at AMSCs.
