The Asian Medical Students’ Association Hong Kong (AMSAHK), one of the founding members of the Asian Medical Students' Association (AMSA) and an associate member of the International Federations of Medical Students' Associations, is the only students’ organization jointly run by medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong. By participating in international medical students’ conferences, managing exchange programmes and organizing public health activities, AMSAHK aims to connect medical students from the two faculties, to encourage worldwide collaboration and to raise local awareness on health issues.
Our Vision
We hope to see AMSAHK serve medical students of Hong Kong not only during their university life, but as a bridge between the academic and professional worlds, actively contributing towards public health promotion and policy making. Building upon its roots as a platform for international exposure, AMSAHK unites students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, equipping them with the expertise and dedication to serve the local and international communities in their future careers through academic reserach, global exchange and public health advocacy.
Our Mission
To serve all medical students in Hong Kong with professionalism, integrity and dedication through organising actvities and managing programmes to
- Expose local students to the international healthcare community
- Facilitate exchange between local students and their counterparts from other parts of the world
- Enhance cooperation between medical students at the two Universities
- Improve local awareness of prevalent healthcare issues, especially among medical students

About AMSA
AMSA is a peak representative organisation for medical students from across Asia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Founded in Manila, Philippines, in 1985, AMSA presently has 15 member countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
As an active, dynamic student-led, not-for-profit, non-political organisation, AMSA holds many activities each year, the major ones include two annual scientific-based medical and cultural conferences, namely the Asian Medical Students' Conference (AMSC) in July and East Asian Medical Students' Conference (EAMSC) in January.
Building on its mission statement 'Knowledge, Action and Friendship', AMSA continues to strive to inculcate the following:
Knowledge: AMSA promotes scientific and medical activities to increase and expand students' knowledge whilst training to become the medical professionals of the future.
Action: As medical students who are concerned for the community around them, they endeavour to do things for the benefit and improvement of the fellow citizens.
Friendship: As future doctors, the aim is to build and maintain a good relationship among the many colleagues of the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
