"SERVING MEDICAL STUDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY, LOCALLY AND BEYOND"
The Asian Medical Students' Association Hong Kong (AMSAHK) is the first students’ organization jointly run by medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong. Inspired to promote local and international medical awareness, a group of medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong decided to take action in 2001. AMSAHK was officially founded on 20th February, 2003 and registered as a student-led organization.
AMSAHK is the first local liaison to international medical students’ associations. We are one of the founding members of the Asian Medical Students' Association (AMSA) International, as well as an associate member of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA). Being the largest joint-university medical students' association, AMSAHK not only unifies local medical students from both universities, but also connects local medical students with those in other parts of the world through conferences and exchanges.
We serve as a bridge between medical students and healthcare professionals, by actively contributing towards public health promotion and policy making. Through increasing international exposure of medical students, AMSAHK advocates the importance of scientific research, global exchange, public health and medical education. We strive to equip them with the expertise and dedication to serve the wider community in their future careers.
We hope to see AMSAHK serve medical students of Hong Kong not only during their university life, but as a bridge between the academic and professional worlds, actively contributing towards public health promotion and policy making. Building upon its roots as a platform for international exposure, AMSAHK unites students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, equipping them with the expertise and dedication to serve the local and international communities in their future careers through academic reserach, global exchange and public health advocacy.

To serve all medical students in Hong Kong with professionalism, integrity and dedication through organising activities and managing programmes to:

Expose local students to the international healthcare community

Facilitate exchange between local students and their counterparts from other parts of the world

Enhance cooperation between medical students at the two Universities

Improve local awareness of prevalent healthcare issues, especially among medical students

Enrich medical knowledge of local students through introduction of extra-curriculum topics, and provide a platform for them to contribute to the improvement of medical education
